Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that President Donald Trump’s interest in controlling Greenland aligns with the US’s historical ambitions. Speaking at a policy forum, he recalled past US attempts to acquire the mineral-rich territory, dating back to the 19th century and including a post-World War II purchase offer to Denmark.
